Harnessing the power of research to learn and generate new insights, enabling the arts community to be strategic, focused and adaptive.
The DNA Platform brings together financial and operational data from arts and cultural organizations across Canada.
The more organizations represented in the dataset, the more useful DNA becomes for understanding the sector, identifying trends, supporting research, and informing decisions.
If your organization is not currently represented, there are simple ways to contribute.
Open the DNA Platform and select FIND MY ORG to search for your organization.
The next step depends on whether your organization already submits data through CADAC.
If your organization already provides information through Canadian Arts Data / CADAC, Mass Culture may be able to include that existing data in DNA with your permission.
Complete the short permission form to authorize your organization’s CADAC data to be included.
You can still contribute directly to DNA.
Complete the simplified DNA form with information about your organization to help broaden representation of Canada’s arts and cultural sector.
Not sure whether your organization is in CADAC?
Check with your organization or check our CADAC organisations reference.
Your contribution helps create a more complete and representative picture of Canada’s arts and cultural sector.
More complete data helps organizations, researchers, funders, policymakers, and other sector partners better understand trends and needs.
Organizations whose data is included in DNA can receive complimentary access to the Platform’s enhanced dashboards, providing deeper ways to explore and compare the data.
Mass Culture uses contributed organizational data to strengthen the DNA dataset and improve representation across the arts and cultural sector.
If you’re unsure which pathway applies to your organization or have questions about contributing data, get in touch with the Mass Culture team.
